Fidelity Life

Our company
We are committed to staying true to our core values and not losing sight of why we are in business.

Our history
Gordon Watson, a top life adviser, and his wife Shirley, founded Fidelity Life in 1973 with a vision of a New Zealand-owned and controlled company where advisers and staff could "have their say" and provide direct input into the company and its products. We set a precedent in New Zealand by trading solely through independent advisers at a time when most companies employed tied agents.
35 years on, we employ over 135 staff and remain wholly New Zealand-owned and controlled.

Our values
Being part of Fidelity Life means you are part of an extended family of New Zealanders. We have a wide network of talented people who are dedicated to making Fidelity Life a friendly, progressive and trustworthy insurance and investment company.
We strive for both excellence and integrity, and see all our staff, suppliers, policyholders and advisers as PART OF OUR BUSINESS - PART OF OUR FAMILY.

Our values are:

Listening & Responding
We engage in dialogue to create value through our relationships.
100% NZ Owned
We retain our original focus to "keep faith" and care in times of need.
Stewardship
We make wise and prudent use of resources entrusted to us for safekeeping.

Our staff
Our staff contribute significantly to the success of the company and we encourage them to be the best that they can be at both a professional and personal level. We value long term relationships with our staff, over 40% of whom have been working at Fidelity Life for over five years.

Our place in the community
We continue to build on our reputation as a socially-responsible company and encourage our stakeholders to also help make a difference in our community and grow a more sustainable business.
